World and European Champion Žiga Zagoranski Visits Worcestershire Martial Arts
Worcestershire Martial Arts was delighted to welcome Žiga Zagoranski to Worcester for a full day of sparring training on Saturday 19 September 2026.

Žiga is a multiple-time World and European Champion in ITF Taekwon-Do and WAKO Kickboxing, and brought a wealth of international competition experience to the mats. Known for his speed, movement, sharp combinations and tactical approach to fighting, he delivered three workshops across the day for students of different ages and experience levels.
The seminar began with a Fun Basics session for ages 8–11, giving younger students the opportunity to work on sparring skills in a positive and accessible environment.
Through games, movement drills and technical exercises, the session focused on confidence, reactions, timing and basic sparring principles. It was a fantastic opportunity for our younger martial artists to train directly with a World and European Champion while keeping the session fun and age-appropriate.

The second workshop, Foundations, was designed for students aged 12+ who wanted to develop and refine the core skills that underpin effective sparring.
Žiga worked with participants on areas including distance, movement, timing, positioning and combinations. The session was suitable for a wide range of experience levels and provided plenty for both developing students and more experienced competitors to take away and apply to their own training.

The final Elite/Performance session increased the intensity further, with experienced and competitive fighters travelling from across the country to attend.
This session explored more advanced combinations, tactical decision-making, movement and competition-level sparring skills. Training alongside a strong group of experienced athletes created an excellent environment for everyone involved to challenge themselves and gain new ideas.

One of the biggest benefits of hosting seminars like this is the opportunity for students to experience different approaches to sparring.
Every athlete and coach brings their own perspective, and training with someone who has competed successfully at World and European level gives students an invaluable opportunity to see how high-level skills are applied in practice.
It was fantastic to see such a broad range of martial artists on the mats throughout the day, from younger students developing their first sparring skills to experienced competitors looking for the smallest improvements that can make a difference at the h

ighest levels.
A huge thank you to Žiga Zagoranski for travelling to Worcester and sharing his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm with everyone who attended.
We would also like to thank all of the students, parents, coaches and visiting clubs who supported the event and helped create such a positive training atmosphere.
We hope everyone left with plenty of new ideas to take back into their training — and we look forward to bringing more opportunities like this to Worcestershire Martial Arts in the future.
