Kickboxing, Fitness & Sparring

What is WMA Kickboxing?

Our Kickboxing, fitness & sparring programme blends technical kickboxing, controlled sparring, and fight-fitness conditioning to help you move faster, hit harder, and build confidence under pressure.

Whether you’re training for competition or just want a new challenge, this class builds real skills — not just sweat.

Who It’s For

  • Anyone aged 13+ looking for a motivating, full-body workout

  • Beginners wanting to learn kickboxing in a safe, structured way

  • Martial artists improving sparring, timing, and ringcraft

  • Over-40s wanting to build strength and fitness in a dedicated sparring ring

  • Competitors aiming to test themselves at national and international level

What You’ll Do

Every session includes a mix of:
🥊 Padwork Combinations & Power Drills – improve striking accuracy and power.
🥋 Technical Sparring Rounds – practice real ring movement with coaching feedback.
💪 Functional Conditioning – fight-fitness circuits that improve speed, endurance, and reaction time.

We operate Beginner, Improver, Advanced, and Over-40s rings so everyone can train safely at the right intensity.

What to Expect

Kickboxing at WMA is energetic, technical, and fun. You’ll develop real martial arts skill while improving your overall fitness.
Classes focus on:

  • Punching techniques: jab, cross, hook, uppercut

  • Kicking techniques: side, turning, front, hook, and axe kicks

  • Footwork, movement, and ring awareness

  • Balance, coordination, and controlled contact

Syllabus & Affiliation

We are affiliated with the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association (BMABA).
Our syllabus allows students to progress from beginner through to black belt level, typically over a five-year pathway.
Gradings are held every four months, and students receive structured feedback and clear progression goals.

Sparring & Safety

Sparring is always light contact and fully controlled.
All students wear appropriate protective gear and are coached on respect, control, and safety.
We also offer opportunities to compete at both national and international tournaments, although competition is entirely optional.

Belt Grading & Competition

Like other martial arts systems, our Kickboxing programme operates a belt system to recognise skill and progression.
Each grade builds on technical ability, conditioning, and ring awareness.
Students who wish to compete can represent Worcestershire Martial Arts at tournaments across the UK and abroad, with full coaching support.
