What is Kickboxing?
Kickboxing is a group of martial arts and stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from Karate, Muay Thai and Western boxing. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defence, general fitness, or as a contact sport. Kickboxing has roots in very traditional Japanese Martial Arts as well as Western Boxing.
What are our lessons like?
Sparring (Light Contact)
Sparring is practiced under controlled conditions with full safety equipment. We also offer all students the opportunity to test and hone their skills in tournaments (both national and international), many of which are offered to our students throughout the year.

Fitness & Pad Work
Our Kickboxing lessons are designed to get you fit as quick as possible! Suitable for beginners, our energetic and intense workouts keep you on your toes and gasping for breath. A mix of cardio, strength and balance training works all your muscles. We use these fitness and endurance classes to prepare you for stepping into the ring if that is what you wish to do!
Belt Grading & Competition
Similar to other martial art systems our Kickboxing syllabus operates a belt system, colour belt testing takes place every 4 months. It takes a minimum of 5 years to achieve a black belt with Worcestershire Martial Arts if regularly training.
Age Restrictions
Worcestershire Martial Arts only accepts students aged 14+ into our Kickboxing classes.
